sub-screen-player

Drive small USB sub-displays from macOS, Linux and Windows. Show a clock, images, or your own content at up to 60 frames per second.
The built-in clock on a 1920x462 bar display
Terminal window
curl -fsSL https://subscreen.dev/install.sh | sh

Then run ssp serve: the clock appears on your display. More in Getting started.

Live frames at 60 fps

Encoding and sending run in parallel. When frames arrive faster than the display takes them, only the newest one is sent.

Clock and images

A built-in clock with your own formats and colors, and PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP images fitted to the panel.

Draw from any program

An HTTP and WebSocket API: stream frames from a script, a dashboard or a game.

Set and forget

Starts at login, and carries on with what it showed when the display is replugged.

Secure by default

Listens on localhost only and refuses requests from web pages. Network access needs a token.

Built to be extended

Device protocols live in small driver crates. Adding a display only means writing its protocol.
